Sziget Festival is the proud winner of the „2011 Best European Major Festival” award and known as one of the biggest multicultural events of Europe, starting in 1993 and already celebrating its 21st edition.
The festival attracts almost 400 000 fans from over 70 countries to a beautiful island in the heart of Budapest, providing a complete festival-holiday experience with non-stop party, great live concerts, a widely international community and all the touristic features the city has to offer.
Sziget is many festivals in one, a week long non-stop event with approx. 60 program venues and around 200 programs daily. Performing bands range from the biggest names of the international pop/rock scene to stars of world and electronic music, but you will also find metal, folk, jazz, blues, alternative and even classical tunes, while you are wondering around the huge festival area.
Sziget is not just about music, as it offers several other cultural programs, like theatre, circus, or exhibitions. This is the only big festival where you will find a Roma tent and even a gay-lesbian venue. And we shouldn’t forget about the fact that the festival is in the middle of Budapest, a touristic city with a lively cultural scene, beautiful historic buildings, Turkish spas and special ’ruin pubs’.

This tiny southern Transdanubian settlement of Hungary's Tolna County, Ozora has an unbelievably old history dating back to the Stone Age. Ancient people had chosen to gather and settle here, protected by the surrounding hills, Mother Nature gifting them with abundant fishing and hunting grounds. Ozora has been remarkably spared from the unkind influences of materialistic exaggerations, leaving it green-breathing and human-scale. However it also takes an glorified place in Hungarian history. The site of the victorious battle of 1848 - its heroes inscribed in gold in all Hungarian historical chronicles, is also home to Pipo de Ozora's Castle, a symbolic landmark, standing proudly to this very day outstanding in its individuality and homeyness among all other castles of its age. In a more recent past, in 1999, a year similarly unfathomable as the one lying ahead of us thirteen years later, Ozora was reborn as the site of a monumental solipse festival. Thousands of people gathered from all around the world to be a part of that uplifting and apocalyptic feeling of the total eclipse of the sun, celebrating it with goa music energies. Since then nine festivals had taken place, each one strengthening that one-of-a-kind togetherness and spiritual reformation that keeps it throbbing with life.
VOLT Festival is situated in Sopron, one of the most beautiful Hungarian cities and a beloved touristic destination with several pubs, taverns and restaurants. The festival venue is close to the Hungarian-Austrian border, only 60 kms from Vienna and 80 kms from Bratislava.
Although VOLT attracts over 100 000 fans each year, it still managed to maintain a special ’family’ atmosphere. This is the right place to meet open-minded and friendly youngsters, all in love with music. The event offers approx. 10 stages with over 150 performers and a number of quality lounges, bars, cafes, restaurants - all built up in the middle of a green forest.
VOLT is a festival with great traditions, celebrating its 21st edition this year. The event is proud to present international stars in several genres, ranging from pop/rock to alternative, metal, folk/world, jazz or electronica.
